The Butterstor Miniature Shetland Pony Stud was established by our late
Grandfather, John Ashford, who formerly founded the South Sands Shetland
Stud. Grandad
had been breeding Shetland Ponies for 26 years. Now we (his grandchildren) have formed a syndicate and are proud to continue his good work.
Visitors to the stud would be very welcome by
appointment.
Featured below is Grandad's pride and joy, South Sands Jackanapes (by New Park
Chieftain). Next to Jackanapes is Butterstor Nectarine, one of
our beautiful fillies from 2010.

Jackanapes was the second highest placed stallion in the 2002
Shetland pony sire rating scheme and he continues to be our number one senior
sire. Jack has proven himself both in the show ring and in the field.
